Dr. Megha Rao graduated from the prestigious Government Dental College, Bangalore, in 2018, and went on to earn her Master’s in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics from D.A.P.M. R.V. Dental College, Bangalore.
She developed her passion for aesthetics and precision early in her dental training and has since dedicated her career to advancing restorative and endodontic dentistry through innovation, research, and education. Currently pursuing her DDS at the University of Washington School of Dentistry in Seattle, Dr. Rao continues to refine her skills and integrate evidence-based techniques into her clinical practice.
Dr. Rao firmly believes that “When I see a patient, I look at them as a whole — as a person, as an individual, and as a human being.” For her, true fulfillment in medicine comes from treating the patient, not just the disease. She views dentistry not merely as a profession but as an opportunity to serve society with empathy, precision, and integrity.
Her research focuses on adhesion in dentistry and endodontics, exploring advanced restorative materials and techniques that enhance the biomimetic quality and longevity of restorations. In 2024, she was awarded a patent for a chairside endodontic sterilization device, reflecting her commitment to translating innovation directly into clinical dentistry. She continues to develop new concepts in restorative and special needs dentistry, bridging science and patient-centered care.
Dr. Rao is also passionate about dental photography, using it as both a diagnostic and educational tool to improve treatment outcomes and foster learning. She frequently presents her research at national and international conferences, including beyond dental fields such as the ISSRDC (International Space Station Research and Development Conference) and Ethics in Biomedical Sciences forums.
Outside the operatory, Dr. Rao is a wellness enthusiast, passionate about music, photography, and yoga. She channels her creative energy through her personal brand, VonMeg, which represents her diverse artistic and professional pursuits. A lifelong advocate for health and fitness, she began learning gymnastics at the age of six and proudly represented India at the World Sports Aerobics Tournament in Reno, Nevada, in 2015, where she earned a gold medal.
